Adopt a Great Pyrenees (long coat)
Albus the Dog needs a home
Albus is a handsome Great Pyrenees male who was picked up as a stray by some nice people who took him into their home. Albus is a great dog -- he is good with other dogs, cats, and children. At a recent adoption event, he was friendly with everyone and would let anyone come up and pet and love on him. He is good on a leash, sits on command, and doesn't bark much (except in public at other dogs he does not know). Albus is fully housetrained, is gentle, calm, and easygoing.
BUT, Albus has one major issue that MUST be considered by any potential adopter. He has major separation anxiety, and also has anxiety during storms (regardless of whether WE hear thunder, rainstorms upset Albus). Fireworks and gunfire terrify him. Albus must be in a home where one of his humans is home most of the time and where he has at least one other Great Pyrenees (preferably one as large as he is) to keep him company. His new home MUST have a secure 6' (or taller) fence, preferably wrought iron or chain link so he has a view of the world around him. As we said, Albus is a truly wonderful dog, and in the right setting (like his current foster home at Windsong Ranch), Albus is a very easy dog to manage.
If you have another big Pyr and are retired or work from home, and if you have a nice big yard with great fencing, please consider Albus as your new companion. He is worth the extra attention he needs during times of stress.
