Adopting A Shelter Dog



These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future.  Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog.  We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.



Gentle sweet girl looking for that speial guy!
Penelope is a gentle sweet girl who came into our rescue scared out of her wits. She and her mom were on the euthaniasia list and she was rescued at that last second. We gave Penelope time to recover, and gain her confidence. She loves to dance, follow us around, prance at our side. She loves my husband (in his 70's) and enjoys laying on the couch by his side. She would love a quiet house, would be fine with other dogs or as a single diva. She ignores the cats here and does not wander when she is let outside (we live on a ranch) She is not a barker, very quiet, well behaved. Crate trained.
She might be bashful at first meet, but does come with a 30 day trial. She is such a good girl and such good company, we know you will fall in love if you give her a chance. She will give you her heart completely.
Adoption is $275.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, heartworm test, de worming treatment, bordetella, flea medication applied for the month and a chip.

Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage



Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.
