Cockie the Bird needs a home
Cockie was once a free-flying bird in Australia. But then he was captured and flown across the world to become a pet. It's truly tragic! But now, he's too acclimated to human life ever to return to the wild. The people who bought Cockie at auction loved him dearly, but they didn't know all the things that a cockatoo needs to be happy. For 30 years, he lived with the family, and never once was Cockie out of his cage. When his person died, he went into foster care for two years. Even though his cage door was left open all day, he was too frightened to come out and explore the world. His foster mother was worried about Cockie's mental and emotional health and contacted Best Friends to see if the caregivers could work with him to open up his world. Now, he lives in a flight cage and is learning that the world is not such a scary place. He could definitely use a loving, parrot-savvy home.
