Adopt a Pug
Shug the Dog needs a home
This is sweet Shug! She is about 6 years old, and lives up to her sweet name. Her back legs are weak from living in a cage most of her life, so she a slow walker now. But the atrophy she has from her past life is improving every day. She prefers to spend time cuddled up near people. This angel loves every stranger she meets, and will cuddle up even at stranger's feet in the elevator! She is friendly with all dogs and not remotely food aggressive. She makes a lot of funny grunts and snorts, but rarely barks. It's obvious Shug hasn't had a lot of luxuries in her past life--it took her weeks to finally enjoy playing with a stuffed dog toy (which she now loves). She is picky about eating and using the potty--she will eat healthy kibble if a little Parmesan or shredded chicken is sprinkled in, but not on its own. She is uncomfortable using the bathroom outside when it is cold and rainy, so I use shredded chicken to reward her for going outside and have a lot of patience with her. She likes to mark the same area. Shug is so quiet and small, it would be easy to trip over her--so she would be best in a home with older, gentle children or with a loving and patient adult.
Hope that helps!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:
