Adopt a German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Miss Maggie! This cheerful, gentle 82 pound lady is a 6 year old German Shepherd/Labrador mix. She has a velvety soft black, tan and white coat, super cute ears and sweetness that radiates from her brown eyes. She’s been a beloved member of a family for 4 years now, but her family has grown quite a bit and she’s a better fit for a calm, quieter household. Her family loves her dearly, but they also want Maggie to have a quality, comfortable life too.

You will never meet a happier dog than Maggie. She loves all people and animals that she’s ever met and she’s such a pleasant dog to have around. She’s a little bit like Mama Bear with the other pets in her life because she grooms them all, even the cat. She currently lives with 4 other dogs from very small to large in size and also 1 cat. She is lovely with all of these animals, but as she gets older, she would benefit from having just one or two other pets so she can get more time with her owner, but still the companionship that she’s accustomed to. Maggie has lived with a child since her rescue 4 years ago and they are very bonded, but with the addition of extended family members and their children and pets, the level of commotion seems to be affecting her. Her owner feels that she really would live a happier life if she were part of a family without children or kiddos that visit often.

Eating, going for walks and cuddling are Maggie’s three favorite things to do. She loves to snack and has put on a few extra pounds lately. She needs a new owner that is adamant about walking her daily so she can drop a little weight. She really enjoys being out and exploring the neighborhood, so she will be an excellent exercise partner, but she does get super excited when she sees other dogs, so she needs someone that won’t lose control too. When she’s at home, Maggie wants to be with her people getting and giving affection. If you sit on the floor with her, she will melt into your lap like butter.

Maggie is a great girl who just needs a change in her family dynamic. She’d be perfect with a retired couple that can spend plenty of time with her and give her lots of attention.
