Shepherd / Mixed Dog

Herbina the Dog needs a home

Meet Herbina! This 1 year old Shepherd mix came to Labs and More with her 6 puppies. She has now retired from motherhood and is looking for a forever family to call her own. Herbina's foster reports that she is a really sweet dog and that she likes to meet and greet all people she encounters; she is good with adults and kids. She will sit patiently while her little human gives her love and pets. Herbina gets along well with the dogs she meets and can be playful with them when it suits her mood; she is respectful of other dogs and has shown that she can approach dogs at the park in a friendly manner. Her manners are perfect; no jumping or getting on the counters, takes treats gently and she walks very nicely on a leash with only pulling occasionally. Herbina knows some basic commands and is food motivated so teaching her new things may be easy. Her foster leaves her unattended in a fenced yard while running errands and she likes to find the sunny spots to relax in while she waits for her family to return but she would prefer to be inside with you. Herbina seems to be up for anything you are into and may make a good running partner as she likes to jog home from her daily walk. She also likes to lounge around and occasionally she will play with a stuffed toy. She will alert you when someone is at the door or if she is need of something, like a treat or potty break, but she rarely barks. She sleeps in a crate at night but she prefers that you leave the light of for her. She will go into the crate with a treat and she settles down quickly. As a young dog, Herbina will need plenty of exercise, playtime and training. She must be integrated into your family and be made a priority in your life.
