Lola the Dog needs a home
Meet Lola! Lola came into rescue with her puppies as a stray. Lola is very unsure of what is going on. She will need a very understanding and patient family without children willing to work with her fears. Lola is very sweet but very scared of people. She seems to warm up to women more then men and has made an amazing bond with her foster mom, but it takes awhile for her to show signs of being comfortable. Lola strives best with another dog in the house. Other dogs help her come out of her shell and helps her build her confidence. Lola loves other dogs and it will help her learn to trust humans better by learning from the other dog in the home and to learn that people are friendly and not scary. When Lola is scared she reacts by running and hiding and trying to bury herself in a corner. She is scared to be touched if she doesn't know you and doesn't like to be held. Lola is working on potty training and is doing very good! It takes some coaxing to get her outside, but once she is, she will go potty. She has done very well with going to the bathroom outside and hasn't had an accident in her foster home in quite awhile. This is huge progress for her. Lola likes to spend her time lounging on the couch on her own. She isn't much of a cuddler but will curl up by your legs if you're laying on the couch next to her. Lola would not do well in a home with a lot of activity and loud noises. Children and new people make her very nervous and scared. Lola is very sweet and quiet. She needs a home that is willing to help build her confidence which she is extremely lacking in. The ideal home for Lola would be a quiet home with low activity and understanding that she has fears of people but with another animal companion that will help her come out of her shell a ton. In her foster home she has shown much improvement over the last few months, but still struggles with the unknown. When Lola is frightened she has never shown any aggression, she has the flight response and wants to run as far away as possible and almost wants to be invisible. Lola is kennel trained and will need to be kenneled when no one is home. She does great sleeping in her fosters bed at night and will cuddle by your legs. But when left alone during the day she has anxiety and has started to become destructive. She does great in her kennel and doesn't make a sound. Lola is not leash trained and is fearful of them. She will try to escape and chew through the leash. Because of this, Lola requires a fully fenced in yard. Lola is a tougher case and really needs someone who wants to work with her. Despite Lola's quirks, she is the sweetest girl and once she gets to know you, she becomes your little shadow.
