Adopt a Great Pyrenees (long coat)

Chandler is a very friendly boy that at our best guess is 5(?).  He has definitely had some hard times, which can be seen from his front leg that was broken and healed improperly.  This doesn’t affect his spirit, but it does look different.  Chandler has had a difficult time adjusting to live inside, and would be better suited to continue to have some kind of job working or some variation of being outside watching the yard and in a garage sleeping at night.  He was a working dog before he came to the rescue, and his work ethic shows.  He is good with pigs, sheep and chickens.  He has taken to guarding the sheep well, but still has some issues with animals around him while he is eating.  His foster parent, whom Chandler trusts, can walk by him, pet him, and take his food away while he is eating, but when the farm animals like sheep and chickens come around while he eat he can become protective.  He takes some time to adjust to new situations, but is a sweetheart once he trusts you.  Breed experience is a must with Chandler, he can be quite headstrong if he doesn’t trust you to lead him properly.  He would be best as an only dog, or with a slow introduction maybe a female.  He interacts minimally in his foster home with other dogs, preferring to follow his charges or his foster parent.  His foster situation gives him the opportunity to be around young excited children as well, and he does extremely well with them.
