Adopt a Boxer / Hound / Mixed

AN ACTIVE & SWEET FELLOW:  4 years old / Currently 42 lbs. and needs to gain weight  Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm. Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m an active fellow who would love a dog savvy family that will be active with me.  I’m affectionate, come when I’m called, love to be petted and really thrive on affection and attention!  I’m a major snuggler and love hanging out with my people!  I can be a little unsure of new things, so just confidently show me that everything is fine and that will help me along.  I’m a very slender dog who just doesn’t let myself be concerned about eating a lot, so I may just stay very slim my whole life.  My foster has tried lots of things to get me to eat more, but I’m just not concerned with food, except I don’t want to share it with other dogs.  My liver enzymes were a little elevated so I’m on an inexpensive liver supplement and will be checked again in November.  I've been good with the other dog in my foster home, but I chase one of the cats rather intensely, so I probably shouldn’t live with kitty cats.  I’d like another dog in my new home, but not a lot of pets as I don’t believe that I’d like to share my people with too many animals, as I’ve showed some possessiveness of my people. I am not allowed on furniture at my current foster home but in a prior one I could sleep on the couch at night.  My potty manners are very good and I don’t need a crate, but I will go in a crate with minimal fuss. Since I love people a lot, I can be a little barky when I’m separated, so I don’t think an apartment/condo type home would be a good fit for me.  I would do best in a home where someone is around during the day and/or there is another dog that I love to keep me company.  I’m very playful and can entertain myself with toys for a while and do enjoy running around in the yard with my people and a dog friend.  I do get excited and jump a bit, so I could use some training on that as well as leash training.  Fetch is fun for me and I’ll give you the toy or ball back so you can throw it again.  Since I love walks and car rides, I should be easy to find lots of fun things to do together. Energy level: 5-7.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered and my adoption fee is $275.00.
