Adopt a Irish Wolfhound / Wire-haired Pointing Griffon / Mixed

Maddox is a loving, faithful, tender-hearted, beautiful and extremely smart Irish Wolfhound mix who needs to be in a family with older children and no cats or even puppies (he does better around older dogs).  He doesn't like to be bothered (whether it's by other animals or children) but is nothing but loving and attentive to his owner.  He is very high energy and enjoys running free and escaping houdini style.  He will not completely run away, rather prefers to stick around close to you, but at a distance until you can entice him back with treats (he LOVES treats!).  He needs to be exercised daily and his fur needs to be brushed weekly (although it will still remain wild and adorable!!).  He knows basic commands and walks beautifully on a leash.  He came from a bad situation in his previous home and his bottom teeth are worn down to the gums, along with a healed broken rib.  He has almost finished his heart worm treatments and only has one treatment left.  He has come a long ways since being rescued at 47 pounds and needs to find a home that will be a good fit for him.

DATE DOG IS COMING TO 1st EVENT (All dogs are available for online adoption now.  In-person adoptions will begin on the date of a dog's first event provided they are still available.  Dogs not adopted during their first event will attend additional events thereafter until adopted): Friday, March 3rd

Our adoption events are at the Lakewood PetCo, 475 S Wadsworth Blvd on 


Wednesday 4pm-7pm,  Friday 4pm-7pm, and Saturday 10am-1pm  

An adoption application online is required prior to viewing our dogs. You should complete it before you get to the event or you will have to wait in line to use the computer there

.

Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. Adopter has to sign up for the insurance if they are interested  or it will not go into effect.  


Adopter can go to our vet for medical issues that may arise in 1st 3 days of adoption.
