Adopt a Poodle (Toy) (long coat)
Duncan Bruce Wayne (foster) the Dog needs a home
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.

What kind of home would be best for me? Duncan has not had a good life and he needs a lot of patience and time. We're looking for an experienced puppy mill rehabber who understands loving a puppy mill dog is a lifelong commitment. The reward of a social dog who shows his love may be a long time in coming (if it ever does) but is worth the work to get to it. He must have another happy and gregarious dog in his home, preferably a dog around his size, who he can pal around with.
What is my personality like? Extremely happy with other dogs, especially female dogs around his size. He is a very shy guy with people, but his foster home is working with him. He's been with them a short period of time and Duncan is already following his foster parents from room to room. He has started asking for affection, he loves to run zoomies in the yard, and he is learning from the dogs in his foster's home. He rarely moves back from being touched or picked up now that he's warmed up to his foster home. He will probably still do this with new people, but he's shown us that he can warm up quickly.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Timid and fearful. He does take time to warm up to new people, but his foster home is working on this!
Other tips and tidbits: He loves sleeping with us & loves ear rubs! Duncan needs continued work on socialization and building trust, but he has shown his foster home that he is eager to bond with someone and finally be a beloved pet. With Duncan's age, our best guess is between 8 and 10 years. His listed birth date is a guess.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
