Dachshund Dog

Einstein the Dog needs a home

Einstein came to us from a shelter where he was turned in by someone who said "he's sick" and didn't want him. It turns out the boy had a pair of infected upper teeth that had abscessed, as well as a massive case of digestive worms, so it's no wonder he was losing weight and didn't feel well!
The bad teeth were removed (the rest were in good shape), he's had wormer, and he is already starting to feel more energetic and gain back some weight. Einstein is a happy old guy who prances while he walks! He enjoys going outside for restroom breaks, and he is fine with most other dogs. Einstein does whine a lot, probably a legacy of his previous owner and his poor health, but he settles down once he's comfy. He was not very nice initially when approached at the kennel in the shelter, but once we got him into a home, Einstein became incredibly sweet and appreciative. He will tell you when he wants out, loves to eat (making up for lost weight and tooth/tummy issues), and is very smart- he figured out dog steps onto the bed almost immediately! Sure he's old, but Einstein doesn't care; he just wants to be loved!
