She caught your eye, didn't she?!? This is Tilley, our absolutely stunning girl who is bombproof wonderful with just about every dog she meets, and she's met quite a few! Tilley was a wayward soul who was not at all pleased with shelter life. She made her way to SOTB where we discovered that she is outstanding with other dogs, but she takes a minute to warm up to people she does not know. Girlfriend likes her personal space when it comes to strangers. She's not ugly about it, but she definitely appreciates the art of conversation and solid getting to know you time before new people invade her space. Once she's spent a minute looking you over, you're welcome in the circle of trust and if you're really lucky, you get to see one silly, goofy, ridiculous wiggle butt dancing all around. Tilley has been spending time with a trainer to learn how to be less of an obvious snob, and to at least fake it when it comes to putting up with strangers. She's doing pretty well, we're really pleased with her progress so far, and we really look forward to seeing her blossom even more. We've figured out that she'll do just about anything for peanut butter, and she's really learning the art of begging fries from strangers during our patio beer outings. Quiet home body life? No way! This is a dog for going places with, and the more places she goes, the more she figures out that life is a huge, fun adventure with loads of free fries and other assorted goodness that will be offered up by all sorts of strangers when she bats her eyes at them. Yeah, we're pretty proud of her progress so far, and see a bright and social future ahead for our beauty queen.
Tilley is 1-2 years old, her house manners are supreme, she's exceptionally clean and has been really good about sticking to her own toys. She does well at daycare, and she runs with a pack of 4-6 dogs at training camp. She's an absolute hoot when it comes to other dogs minding their manners. Running the fence and barking is not permitted, you may run quietly. Body checks? Oh, you're gonna get "the look" for that. The way this dog looks down her nose at boorish behavior is absolutely hysterical! If she can find a running mate who can match her considerable speed, watching her stretch her legs is a thing of beauty. If she can't find a good running partner, she's more than happy to run circles around the slower dogs. Like a true lady, running is for outside, when it is time to go inside, lounging is the law of the land. No running in the house, running is for outside, so declares the Tilley Bean.
This is one neat dog with a few quirks. Sometimes she's like a cat, sometimes she's like a greyhound, sometimes she's like an antelope, and a great percentage of the time she's one silly, happy girl. Tilley would love to find a home with dog buddies, but she'll need plenty of one-on-one time to go out to see the world from her own four feet. Tilley is one of our special ones who has grabbed a number of vollie hearts, so she will come with continued training support as she integrates into her forever home.
