Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed
Daisy Duke the Cat needs a home
DOB 9-2017 Daisy Duke was living under a deck in Bondurant with her 2 siblings when the extreme January 2018 cold hit. Her mom hadn't been seen for a while. She is a bit timid at first as she is still not 100% sure about people. She is learning that life indoors is good. She is sweet, loves to be held, and purrs up a storm. She likes to play as well. She would do well in a home with other pets and has been around cats, dogs, and older kids. If you are interested in adopting this kitten, please fill out an application on our website: www.hopeanimalrescueofiowa.org/adopt.html All of our animals are located in foster homes around the Des Moines metro area. We are 100% volunteer run. Our volunteers' time is very valuable to us, so we ask for serious inquiries only. The adoption fee for our kittens is $100. Or adopt a pair for only $150. This fee covers spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations (depending on the kitten’s age, there will likely be additional vaccination boosters required), FeLV & FIV test (negative unless otherwise stated), fecal/dewormer if needed, flea/tick treatment if needed, microchip & registration, and a free post-adoption wellness exam from Prairie View Animal Hospital in Grimes, Iowa. This is a veterinary service package valued at over $350. As we are run entirely on donations, the adoption fee merely covers a portion of the medical costs to prepare the kitty for adoption. The remainder, as well as any special medical care need, & the daily care (food, treats, toys, beds) of the kitty are covered by donations. Please consider an additional donation to your adoption fee to help sponsor another animal who needs hope. If you haven’t found your new friend yet, but would like to help give hope to furry kids in need, you can donate direct here: www.hopeanimalrescueofiowa.org/donate.html Unless otherwise noted as a pre-existing condition, our kitties are not declawed. Cats are quite attached to their claws & we feel there are many other humane ways to deal with unwanted scratching , while keeping the kitties in tact & happy. We would love the opportunity to consult with you on this topic, and create a fun bonding process with you and your cat in the process! We provide hope when they have given up hope, we speak when they cannot speak, and we love without boundaries. We are always looking for event volunteers & foster families.
