All dogs with PUP are in private foster homes so we can provide our potential adopters the most current information available.

Health: Lacey has been spayed, microchipped and had a dental. She is current on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, and tested negative for heartworm.

History: Lacey comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. PUP was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs PUP pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state.

Notes from Lacey's Foster Home:

Lacey is an affectionate and precious little packrat with a sweet disposition.  She has an endearing habit of gathering up dog toys (and an occasional found item, like a dropped sock) and transporting them to the dog beds and crates in our house.  She doesn’t seem interested in chewing anything up, though she does sometimes stop to play with a squeaky dog toy along the way, but she then returns to her job until she is satisfied with the placement of everything.

She makes us laugh and she is happy to interrupt her work to come over for some pets or to curl up with someone watching TV.  Lacey moves around the house with us when we are home and she likes to move her toys about but we do not think she is high energy nor in need of constant attention; she is quite happy with a day that involves some time to move toys around, time for napping and/or snuggling, time for plenty of naps, and maybe time to play for a few minutes with a buddy or get out for a little walk in addition to potty breaks.

Lacey is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate (from 10 pm to 6:30 am), as well as sometimes napping in an open crate in the daytime.  She has progressed nicely with housetraining and, though she is not a fan of the rain and wind in our area, she does not have accidents inside when given regular potty breaks on a schedule and crated when we must be away (she can stay in her crate for about 4 hours at a time during the day before needing a break).

Lacey gets along fine with the other small dogs in our house (she has not been around any large dogs in our home).  Though she is a happy little dog who is pretty confident inside of our home, we are working to build her confidence outside of our home, as we find that she becomes somewhat timid when out on walks or when visiting stores such as Petco.  Lacey is working on sit, waiting at the door, and coming when called and is making good progress on learning these basic commands.  We have no doubt that this cute little girl will make a cheery and devoted companion for a great family that is looking to share some affection and attention with a new family member!

Note: The above description reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. Although PUP provides adopters up to the minute information on our dogs, we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.

Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for this dog and you reside within Washington State, please go to our
