Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)
Frosty the Dog needs a home
Frosty was adopted a couple years ago from Safe Haven, but returned because she has been having a lot of hot spots/skin issues. It was ultimately determined these issues were due to environmental stress caused by changes in her home situation to which she was not able to adjust, as well as possible environmental allergies. Frosty will need to be in a quiet home with no small children as they seem to make her nervous. She would also prefer a home with no other dogs or cats.
She has now seen a veterinarian specializing in dermatology who feels she is responding well to treatment. She is undergoing immotherapy for the many allergens that she tested positive for amd seems to be responding very well. Current thinking is that because of the numerous allergens her discomfort and occasional crankiness was due to feeling really lousy rather than the home situation, but she still would probably be happier without sharing a home with toddlers.
Medical Update February 2018: Frosty is responding well to immotherapy. She will most likey stay on this for the rest of her life. She will be seen again in three months.
