Moss is a friendly orange tabby cat that was found outside. He obviously had a rough life before coming to Furkids. He has scars and scabs on his back – see the photos. He may have been repeatedly attacked by other cats while he tried to get food, or he may have hidden under cars and got burned from the exhaust. Either way, he’s clearly loving but was easily scared the first week in foster care. 99% of the time, he flops on his side and purrs. He is constantly begging to be pet or to have snuggle time. Because of the scars down his back and tail, for the first few weeks in foster we could only rub his head and cheeks. If we run our hand down his back he would wince. His back is mostly better, so as long as we are gentle, we can how pet him all the way down his back.
Orange tabby cats are famous for having great personalities. And Moss is no exception. Loving guy ! Moss needs family who can give him a lot of attention and affection. Because he was previously abused, he may have a hard time adjusting to a family with kids running the house, so maybe a couple or single person would be the best fit for him. Moss gets along with other cats if introduced slowly. He was clearly abused and chased by other cats, so he is scared in the beginning and takes time to trust other cats.
The name “Moss” is from a British comedy on Netflix called “The IT Crowd”. The character Moss is friendly guy with a great personality. We named him Moss because he is so friendly and lovable, like the character on the show.
Think about adopting Moss and he will flop on his side and show you his affection for the rest of his life.
