Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
MJ the Cat needs a home
MJ is 13 and has yet to find someone who will give her unconditional love and commitment for the rest of her life! Her original adopter gave her to a friend when she moved; the friend gave her to his mother, and when she went into assisted living, MJ was surrendered to the county shelter. She's lived in multiple homes in two states. After being rescued by ForeverMeow, she was adopted and returned once, when her elderly adopter's in-home help no longer accommodated her cat care. How lovely would it be for her to find a permanent love with whom to share retirement.
MJ loves company and will crawl into your lap just to sit and commune with you. As a senior cat she doesn't play as much anymore, but when she's in the mood, you can engage her with an interactive toy.
We have introduced her to short supervised walks on the porch, and she loves to roll on the ground and breath the fresh air. She would appreciate an adopter who might be able to continue this routine. She doesn't run or walk fast, so she is easy to keep supervised. But please note, she has alway been an indoor cat and requires strict supervision during walks. Having been an indoor cat, she would not be able to protect herself against predators, especially at her age.
MJ has a skin allergy for which she takes a predisolone (steroid) tablet every other day. A sponsor has offered to provide this medication on-going at no cost to her adopter. When she was ultimately turned in to the county shelter, she had this active skin allergy. Without a rescue such as ForeverMeow taking her from the county shelter, having her skin allergy diagnosed and treated, she would not have made it out alive.
So MJ has been both unlucky and lucky in her life. But she is still waiting for her one true love.
