If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Marisa is a 3-4 year old female Chihuahua mix who weighs in at 14 pounds. Marisa came to ARF with many issues: Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, upper respiratory infection, dental issues, eye infection, allergies, anxiety from past treatment and issues with her paws from being kept in a damp area. She has been treated for all of these issues and has a clean bill of health! She still has some issues with anxiety but those are lessening. She would love her own forever home where there are no other dogs - she would like the humans and the dog food all to herself! Marisa loves to be near her human. At her foster home, at night and when the humans are gone, she sleeps on her bed in a corral. If she were the only dog, she would love to sleep with her human at night. Marisa loves to go for walks when it is nice out and occasionally plays with toys. She will dance for her treats - so cute! She would do great with an older adult or couple. Marisa is long overdue for her stress free, loving forever home...are you her forever human companion?
Marisa is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and spayed. Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Marisa ' s adoption fee is $250.
