Adopt a Lhasa Apso

It is impossible not to fall in love with Koukie. This senior lady is incredibly intelligent, listens really well and has plenty of love left to give. A true cuddler, she loves snuggling up to her people and being loved on all day long. She will follow you around in the hopes of a belly rub! Overall she's a mellow girl, but bounds with energy when she's about to go on a walk or when it's time for food. She LOVES short but frequent walks, and loves sniffing around at a relaxed pace. She's fine with most other dogs.

Her favorite thing is being in her human's company, and she will happily sit next to you or sleep at your feet for hours. Give her a belly rub and watch her happily fall asleep (but the second you stop she'll give you that "Just five more minutes" look!). Koukie is house-trained, but needs to be taken out frequently as she is older. She does know how to use potty pads and has had no indoor accidents at her current foster's house.

Due to her age, Koukie does have a few aches and pains. She has sensitive paws and ears, and may get nervous and want to nip when they are being treated, she is totally fine when those areas are being pet. She may also have a touch of arthritis, but walking seems to help and she is totally fine going up stairs. Her vision is not great, so she can get spooked in the morning or if any person or dog approaches her too suddenly. She is also spooked by noises in the house, but rarely barks or responds other than looking at you with her big wide loving eyes for some reassurance.

A calm, quiet and loving environment would be her dream come true! She would especially love a house where someone can be around during the day to give her love! Koukie has done well with kids (even toddlers!) but since she can be sensitive about her pain points (particularly her ears and paws) she would do best in a house with older kids who know how to be gentle or a home with only adults. Her forever family will be very lucky indeed; Koukie is a real lovebug!

Rocket Dog believes Koukie is likely a Lhasa Apso mix around 11/12 years old and is nearly 12 pounds.
