Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) Cat

*Toni* the Cat needs a home

Toni is a super energetic, expressive, and playful black and white cat. She'll spend hours playing with her cat toys either by herself or with her potential owner. She's also quite lovable, asking for cuddles whenever she is in the mood and crawling into your lap to sleep. Toni is currently on a prescription diet that helps prevent crystals from forming in her urine. As long as she's fed only her special dry food, she's very healthy as long as she sticks to her diet. She would thrive in a home with adults and older kids, and as the only cat to take up all your love and attention. Toni is also enrolled in our Cat Pawsitive program! We use clicker training and treats to teach him things like sit, spin, and high five!

UPDATE from Toni's foster parent:

Toni is playful and smart. She loves playing laser and all kinds of teasers, or just a small mouse doll or ball with a bell inside. Chasing after the red dot is her forever love, and she’d sometimes turn to look at your hand, as if she knows you’re leading the mysterious dot.

Everyday she wants pets and love. Note that she doesn’t like her back be touched very much (a little is ok, she’ll just walk away). Sometimes she will get close to you, like walk around you or stand on your lap. Being around you is her duty that she will always fulfill. Even when she’s not next to you, you can always turn to see her looking at you.

You should also get her a scratcher. She uses it daily with me and eventually she will bite the cardboard with her teeth. That’s just one of the weird/cool/unique things about her

Toni eats a special diet C/D (dry food) that is priced slightly higher than other regular dry food, yet considering that you don’t have to get her treats or canned food or worry about which brand to buy, I’d say it is not a bad thing. She enjoys the C/D food and eats up every bit in her plate.

As for some things that she doesn’t like: hair brushing and the sound of plastic bags! Although she likes petting, I can only use the hair brush on her for a minute. I’m not sure if it is the brushing or the brush that she hates, but every time she sees the brush, she’ll attack it with her little paws!
