Differently abled

Champ is short for Champion because this dog is a true champ.  He suffered terrible injuries very young (he is likely just 4 months or so old now).  Somehow his pelvis and right rear leg were broken and then were never fixed.  When found and brought to the shelter he was also suffering from flea dermatitis and some hair loss.  His injuries are too old to repair at this time, so he will likely live with them the rest of his life.  Well this has not slowed him down.  Think of him as differently abled.  He is active, happy and does not appear to be in any pain.  He is underweight, but we are working on fattening him up and healing that irritated skin.  He is getting on very well with my other small dogs and loves my 5 year old grandson.  Although he will need an understanding pet parent who will make allowances for his old injuries, he will be a great pet for the right family.
