Adopt a Weimaraner (short coat)

Meet Schatzie a petite 56 pound, 8-year-old female who is the sweetest girl you will ever meet.  She is very calm, chill, and loves her humans and foster brother.  She prefers dogs that are submissive.  She would love to sleep with you if you will let her, but she sleeps in her comfy bed on the floor and loves to be covered with a blanket.  She is house trained and will let you know she needs to go out by sitting on the rug at the back door.  She walks well on leash and loves to have her nose to the ground for the nearest rabbit or squirrel.  If she finds a critter, you may have to wait a little while as she wants to go in for the chase.  She is not crate trained but does well left to roam if you are not home.  She will try to dumpster dive if garbage is left unattended.

Schatzie needs a special family as she is diabetic and needs insulin injections with her meals twice a day.  She also needs a special diet that caters to reduced sugars in her food, and she only gets certain snacks at certain times.  Her foster family was new to diabetes and giving injections too, and they will be happy to teach the new family that adopts her.  It’s easy!  Schatzie was given the opportunity through the donations of many people to her YouCare page to have vision surgery since her diabetes had caused her to go blind.  She can now see and is loving life with all her senses. It has been fun to see her personality emerge now that she can see.

Even with these medical needs, she is the most loving and affectionate dog and still loves to go outside on walks with her humans.  Take a chance on Schatzie.  You won’t be disappointed as she will give you the best companionship ever!

Our rescue Weimaraners are current on all vaccinations and heartworm preventative. They are spayed or neutered, and microchipped. The adoption donation is $300.00 for adult Weimaraners, $350.00 for puppies, who are old enough to have been spayed/neutered, $450 for puppies who are not old enough to be spayed/neutered, $100 refundable deposit included and $250.00 for seniors.
