Hi everyone, my name is Bear, are you looking for a smart dog, one that would love you to the moon and back, one that is in tune with his feelings, one that is looking for an owner that could look deep into my soul and see the real me?  Well if you said yes to any or all of these questions then I may be the perfect match for you.

I find myself in rescue through no fault of my own.  My owner passed on which meant that I’m in need of finding a new one.  I was very much a part of a family and I would love to find another home that would appreciate my attention.  My Foster Mom says that if you just step back and watch me you will be amazed on how in tuned I am with my feelings.  I was great a helper in my Foster Home when their senior cat wasn’t feeling well and he needed some comforting.  I would lie with him for long periods of time to keep him company.  My Foster Mom says I’m a very special guy.

I have been looking long and hard but haven’t found my perfect match yet.  I know you are out there!

And now, a few words from my foster mom:

I would compare Bear to an onion.  He has many layers to him and what you first see when you get to meet him is not the true Bear.  When you first come in you will see an excitable dog that may not come to you at first.  He is a stranger danger type of dog.  If he doesn’t know you he may not want to seek your attention.  If you could peel that next layer off, you will find the real Bear.

He is in tune to what is going on in the house and will gravitate to other animals that might need some comforting if they are not feeling well.  When he wakes up in the morning he checks out all the animals to make sure they are awake and ready to get going. Bear is a very special guy when it comes to this.

Bear is a very social guy who absolutely loves humans of all ages once he knows you.  If he can’t spend time with you then he enjoys sharing his life with a low-key companion dog.  He loves to snuggle up with them.

He is toilet trained and he will ask to go outside by standing in front of the door; he will also use pee pads.  He loves having access to a fenced-in backyard.  Bear’s ideal home would be a single-family home with a secure yard; like most dogs Bear can bark.

Bear loves to sleep on the bed and settles down very quickly and doesn’t move all night. Doesn’t he sound like the perfect companion?
