SCAMP the Dog needs a home
MEET SCAMP!!
Scamp has the appearance of a Treeing Tennessee Brindle Dog - a variety of Cur - but with a larger frame and bearing. His personality is like that of a Lab. He's a gentle giant - his size and character make him a
companion of substance! Scamp's tail was not medically docked, rather he seems to have been born with a 3/4 size tail.
Scamp is a true gentleman, a quiet office-mate, and in
the evenings, he enjoys lying just inside the patio door to take in the sounds and smells. Although he's
a rabbit-chaser, Scamp accepts polite dogs of all sizes. However, he does not understand play or engage in it. Scamp is a gem and would be extremely pleased to be the only dog, and the family he joins will be fortunate, indeed.
Scamp was rescued from a situation where he continued to leave home in search of yummy food and doting humans.
He was adopted for eight months but has just returned to our rescue through no fault of his own -- the adopters had a change of circumstance and are unable to keep him.
Scamp's tattered ears show that, at some point, he may have been left to fend for himself. He is treasured now and is living in a foster home where he's enjoying daily walks and has made a lovely friend in his foster sister, a "senior dog" who is quite a bit older than Scamp!
Though not a prolific shedder, Scamp
LOVES to be brushed, and -- like many guys -- snacks and attention are the way to his (giant) heart!

"Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
"Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly dog that lives in the same household.
We DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.
Dogs remain posted while we screen potential adopters. As long as dog is designated "Available" we continue to accept applications.
We are staffed by all volunteers and use an application protocol to handle all inquiries about adoptable dogs. This system enables an efficiency that allows us to save and care for more dogs. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
