Izzy Grace (NC) the Dog needs a home
Until her recent rescue, Izzy Grace lived the miserable life of a puppy mill dog, so naturally this gorgeous 8-lb. Rat Terrier, estimated to be 11, is quite shy. After what she has endured at human hands, you'll have to earn her trust. It took her a month to approach her foster family for affection and to allow them to pick her up. You'll need to give her time and space to warm up, but once she does, you will have a friend for life. And what a sweet, delightful friend she will be! She'll love curling up in your lap, all warm and safe, being cuddled and petted. She's even learning to play! There's no better feeling than watching Izzy show her happiness by wagging her little stubby tail with all her might. Izzy Grace gets along great with cats and other little dogs. Naturally she's going to want a home that is peaceful and predictable, so her new family probably shouldn't have any children below middle-school age. Izzy has almost mastered crate training and is continuing to work on house-training. She'll need to have someone home with her most of the time to provide frequent, regular opportunities to go out. Although a lifetime of poor care left her with only four teeth, she manages to eat her kibble quite well as long as it's softened in warm water and topped with canned food. Izzy is so grateful for the good fortune to have been rescued from that puppy mill. Now she is hoping that fortune will bring her a family to call her own.
