Affectionate, Outgoing, Confident Alfreda has an adorably serious-yet-smooshy face and a wonderfully gravelly voice (think Bea Arthur with whiskers), and loves to chat over a good meal! She lost her home when her human passed away; she was left alone for weeks before someone stepped up to take care of her. Although she's been through a rough patch, she is a resilient gal who bounced back and is ready for a new forever home! Alfreda is wonderful with other cats - she loves kittens and has even nursed a few. She also cuddles up to senior hospice cats. We think she'd be good in a multi-cat home, provided the other cats are as easy-going as she is. Alfreda enjoys being around people, but on her terms. She will let you know when she wants to be petted, or wants to be petted more, or wants the current status to change - all with a swat of her paw! She can picky about how she is petted and interacted with, so her humans should be cat-savvy adults or young adults who can appreciate and respect her independent, funny, and sometimes sassy personality. Alfreda isn't big on cuddling, and while she loves a good throw-down with a toy miouse, she's past the crazy kitten stage and is not active at night - so she makes the perfect low-maintenance companion! In addition, she is pristine in her litter box habits and uses only designated scratching devices. Alfreda has shown great strength and character during the most trying time in her life; now she is looking for people who will respect her space, enjoy her company, and toss a few mice around for her.
