*HARPER the Dog needs a home
Hi all, I am a volunteer at BAS and I have a special affection for Harper. When she first got to BAS, she was cranky about the situation...but there was something in her eyes that told me she just needed a friend to see past it all. How lucky am I, she let me be that friend.
Believe me when I tell you, Harper is an amazing dog! She lights up when she runs and bounces in the yard, and she will happily run after a tennis ball and play keep away.
When it''s time to go inside, Harper loves to love on people and her whole body wiggles when she gets a back scratch. After some cuddle time, she is content to relax on her own bed and munch on chew toys. Harper knows the ''sit'' command and is pretty darn good walking on a leash. This past weekend Harper got to meet a dog, and today she got to see some cats inside their condo. Harper seemed a bit unsure what to do in both instances and was quite receptive to human guidance. It just doesn''t get much better than Harper! Love, Brandi
Harper has tested positive for heartworm disease and needs a rescue or an adoptive family that can ensure she continues treatment at their veterinarian. Heartworm disease is a serious condition that if left untreated can be fatal. However, most dogs treated go on to live long and happy lives! We recommend that you talk with your veterinarian about treatment options, the care needed during treatment as well as expenses.
