Hello! My name is Jordan.
Please be patient while I get up the nerve to come over to you. I LOVE people! But I’m a little timid. People and everything from the sound of the toilet flushing to thunderstorms put me a little on edge, but I don’t do any of the destructive things that puppies often do when they’re nervous. I’m very well house trained and I only chew on dog toys. All I need is a little reassurance. In foster care I have a routine that helps me feel much more relaxed. My favorite thing to do is snuggle on the couch with people.
Jordan may be the gentlest dog we have ever met. He’s a long, lanky fellow who doesn’t seem to know that he’s not a small dog anymore, with a face that melts your heart and eyes that perpetually say, “Is this ok?”. He has staked out his favorite spot on the couch and is most content when someone sits there with him. In fact, he likes it when we pick him up and cuddle him like a baby, which is irresistible since the kids in our house are bigger now and won’t take naps on the couch with us anymore. He does snore, though. Jordan is working hard to overcome a few issues (but aren’t we all?). His biggest challenge has been the leash. He seems to think that having a leash on means that he’s supposed to stand still. We tried letting him wear it around the house, but he chewed it up. He’s very happy to run and play in our fenced yard, but his nerves get the better of him when he sees neighbors come and go. He has bouts of barking and jumps up along the fence sometimes. Perhaps his timidity is also what makes him so responsive to verbal corrections much of the time. We haven’t found anything that will motivate him to move on the leash, but we’re not giving up!
Attending obedience classes with his new family will go a long way in helping him to become the confident, well-mannered pooch he's certainly meant to be! Jordan is playful when it comes to kitties, but he can be a bit overbearing and so may not be a welcomed playmate for all kitties.
Can you offer this gentle soul the kind of nurturing, time and patience he needs to fully blossom? If so then don't wait any longer! Fill out an application today for Jordan Jubilee and be prepared to see him shine!
Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange:

. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.
Adoption Fee: $425
**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
