Adopt a Labrador Retriever (short coat)
Luna the Dog needs a home
I am house trained and crate trained. I sit on command and always before my foster family opens the door for me to go out or come inside. I think I know shake, but my humans are not praising me because they think I am pawing them for attention. I only bark occasionally when I hear a strange sound on the other side of the fence I cannot see. I love long walks and I have a very nice trot that works if you like to jog around the neighborhood. I don’t bark when I see other pets, humans or squirrels when we are out on an adventure. I like to stop to let the neighborhood kids pet me. When I get a long walk or a few shorter walks/jog per day, I am content to lay on the floor and hang out with my humans in the evenings.
I sometimes get excited to see someone and I put my paws on them. My humans are teaching me “off” and I am responding well. My foster Mom likes to feed me yummy dog food in my crate when the humans eat, and I am learning to keep my curious nose off the dinner table.
My foster family never had a big dog before. Now they think big dogs are the best! I am the only pet at my foster home. I would likely do great in a home with other pets since I get along with everyone I meet. I would also be happy being your one and only. I like small children, but I don’t always realize I am a big girl, so I think my forever home could have older kids but not littles. I would do best in a home where there is a human home most of the day. I sleep thru the night in my crate in the family room. I spend a few hours each day in my crate for a rest when my humans are away. I do not like being confined to a room where I cannot see what is going on. And I am a bit wary of the garage. I think at one time I was confined to a garage for long periods of time. And I do not want to repeat that! My foster family does not let me on the furniture or in the Master bedroom. So I wait patiently outside on the floor until they emerge. I love stretching out on the floor in front of the fireplace. I really love being around my humans! I give lots of unconditional love, snuggles, smiles and kisses.
