Adopt a Tiger / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)
Ray Hampstead the Cat needs a home
I'm Large and Gorgeous!
Ray was born about April 1, 2017 and is going to be a nice big kitty when he is done growing. He's extremely friendly and loving, and wonderful with the other cats and has been fine with the visiting dog. He did come in with a brother and they sure have a sad story. Somehow they ended up living inside a dumpster behind a restaurant. Nearby is a trailer park where tenants come and go, often during the night. They tend to set the pets outside or leave them inside, with enough food and water (hopefully) until someone finds them. They were smart boys and found a food supply and shelter, and were clever enough to realize they had to jump and run when the garbage truck was backing toward their "home"! Their last garbage day came when a young lady saw their escape and one of them jumped from the dumpster as it was being raised! She knew she had to take them home, but her parents felt they already had enough mouths to feed. Through a friend of a volunteer we heard about these two smart, lucky, kitties and knew we had to make room for them. We are so glad that everything turned out as it did. These boys are now ready to move on into wonderful lives, leaving memories of their tragic past behind, and becoming a member of a family that will love them forever!
A cat can live 12-18+ years if cared for properly. Be sure you are able to care for it for its lifetime.
