"Do you like to explore? Well, i'm Bailey and it's one of my FAV things to do!!!"
Bailey appears to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix about 5 years old. She's beautiful with her tan coat, white toes, and partially blue left eye! She's a "ready-for-action" girl who will need 2+ hours a day of exercise, but who's also more than happy to settle down for a bit of cuddling after. A fenced yard might be best for her as she does try to "escape" through doors and gates to go exploring. She does fairly well on a leash and house training is in progress. She is crate trained and rides well crated in the car. She does well with other dogs who aren't dominant, and currently happily shares a kennel with another younger dog about her size. Cats are an unknown and she hasn't been around many smaller dogs. She's playful and wants to be petted by any adult she meets, and though she has not been around children, because she's so friendly and loving, we think she would be fine. Attending obedience classes with your newest family member is a great way to help her build confidence, socialize with new dogs and people, and get in some quality bonding time with you. Bailey is smart, eager to please and treat motivated, the perfect combination to ace these classes! She will need work on learning that jumping on people isn't polite. Dogs of all ages benefit from mental exercise, too - think puzzle toys and games. In warmer weather when she was kenneled outside, Bailey did bark at animals passing in the night.
Bailey's such a love, seeming to love everyone she meets! She was picked up as a stray in Louisiana, adopted briefly and returned. She's dreaming of her perfect forever home. Could that be yours? Fill out an application today and make Bailey's dream come true!
Adoption Fee: $425
**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
