James is the whole package: Smart, playful and a total lovebug! Although he may not always show it behind the kennel door, he has so much potential to be the perfect house-dog. Smart and eager to please, he has already mastered a number of behavioral skills that will help him ease right into his forever home. James is a hard little worker, especially if treats are involved! It didn't take long for him to learn the essentials, including "sit, "stay, "down, "shake and "place. He's also happy to stay in his crate for hours while his human friends are away. Give him a bully stick and you've got a friend for life! He's also the perfect road-trip companion. While journeying from Arizona to Austin, he slept most of the way and even put up with bad 80's music. When he's off the clock, he spends his free time loving up on volunteers, showering them with sweet puppy dog kisses.His favorite activity is sitting right next to his human and leaning in for long snuggle sessions.He's content to sit quietly right by your side for as long as you wish. He also loves playing with squeaky tennis balls and tossing them around. Please don't let the shelter stress deter you from taking James out for a visit. Trust us, once you get him out and about you'll see a happy, wiggly dog with a vibrant personality. Once he flops over for belly rubs and smiles up at you with that big, goofy grin, it's impossible not to fall in love! We have no doubt this young, healthy and happy boy will make his forever family very happy for many years to come.
