Meet Mango....the kitty as sweet as his name!


Chubby cheeked Mango was found as a stray in Philadelphia several months ago.  He was a bit of a curmudgeonly guy at the shelter but he was feeling under the weather.  He has since recovered from his kitty cold and had a dental to remove some gross teeth and is *SO* much happier.  He can often be found sleeping in a sun puddle on the sofa in his foster home.  He gets along well with the other cats in his foster home, preferring the company of other polite kitties who will coexist with him but not want to rough house.  He is also fine with the dog in his foster home.  He would be fine with other low key animals willing to give him a little space, with slow introductions.


Mango is a pretty distinct guy.   He has one ear that is permanently folded over, adding to his adorable and unique look.  We're guessing he has not the best at fending for himself.  He has adjusted to indoor life and enjoys the finer things, such as clean litter boxes, soft beds, and his daily rations of canned food.  While Mango (or Pumpkinhead to his foster family) is not a big fan of being picked up he does love to sit on the sofa near you and absolutely loves being brushed.  He is just a sweet, low key companion looking for a quieter home.


Mango is FIV positive, which is no big deal.  He likely will need more dental care at some point in the future (common with FIV+ cats), regular vet care. a high quality diet and a family vigilant to watch for any small infections, etc since their immune systems are compromised and make them a bit more susceptible to infections and such.  Although he is FIV+ he is fostered with several FIV- cats, as his foster family is well versed in newer research and Mango does not present a risk to their own cats or other fosters.


Consider adding this lovely, quiet middle aged man to your life if you are looking for a low maintenance, well mannered and adorable cat.  We promise you won't be disappointed!


Mango is neutered, vaccinated, had a dental and up to date on basic vet care.


Adopting from The Cat Shack



The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
