Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed

Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed Dog

Baily D3851 the Dog needs a home

Meet Bailey! She is a brindle/white, born 9/8/214 and weighs about 60lbs, short and super sweet pittie mix.  As stated,  she weighs 60lbs, but she is so small!  In her foster home she is known as the pocket rocket; however, she is very low key and would be content to cuddle most of the time out of her day.  Bailey also likes to play every now and then, but she is very picky with her puppy playmates.  She will sometimes play with her foster humans, usually only for a short period before she shuts down and just wants to snuggle.  She continues to open up more and more. She is also content playing by herself with toys (any kong toy) and doing her own thing. She would do best in a single dog home and has done ok with the cats in her foster home.  She has tried to chase them on occasion in a playful manor.  Bailey will pull, sometimes quite a bit, on a leash when she first starts a walk, but it usually dissipates in the first few minutes.  This has been a huge improvement from when she first came into foster care. Bailey was also very reactive on a leash but has since calmed down.  Bailey is very eager to please, learn, and loves her human companions.  It is important to understand she is a slower learner and does require patience.  She is food motivated and will patiently work with you to learn the commands you are trying to teach her, but it  does take her a bit to catch on.  Bailey is house and crate trained on a schedule.  Once she has a schedule down she's fine she just needs time to learn it.  She will not let you know when she needs to go out unless she's in her crate overnight.  Then she will make noise in her crate to go out. She does shoot out of her kennel whether she is in there for 2 minutes or 2 hours which is how she got the nickname pocket rocket but her manners get better and  better. Upon greeting people at the door she used to jump a lot, now only does so on occasion.  She will bark at foreign noises both inside and outside no matter where she is. She truly is a fun dog that will make you smile every day because she truly has a great personality!
