Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Norfolk Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)
Hugs the Dog needs a home
We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th from 12-4pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-4pm on Sat. Feb. 17th & Sun. Feb. 18th or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.)
Hugs is an 8 month old Yorkie mix. He weighs 13lbs. He was a rescue from the shelter. He won over the staff with his shy demeanor but then he began to blossom with their love. He originally would hang out at the back of the dog run but then when our volunteer went to meet him, she got down on her knees and he came up and put his head on her lap. It was love.
Hugs lives with other dogs and finds his confidence with other dogs. He will head towards another dog before he does people initially. But when he knows his people it's nothing but love. It just takes someone willing to go slow at first, not grabbing or acting too quickly with him and once he loves you you could dunk him upside down and he'd come back up with kisses to smother you. He's was a snuggler and a cuddler within 48 hours with his foster home. They gave him space and time and soon he was dying for their affection.
Hugs currently lives with a dog savvy cat.
Hugs will need a home that has had experience before and has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children they need to be dog savvy and at least ten years old.
