Adopting A Shelter Dog
These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.
Meet Winkie. THis little girl came to us 4 years ago feral and unsocialized. She was terrified of us. Years later, she is still a shy girl but she loves to be around people, sleep in comfy beds, and lounge around the house. She has the temperament of a shy cat. Outside, she can run like the wind and loves to play but she is very much an indoor dog. She currently lives on unfenced acreage and does not wander. SHe has great dog manners, doesn't bother the cats and has liked older gentle children. She is not a kids dog per se' as she may not give them the instant love they desire. Winky would be a great easy companion dog for your other dog. She is gently playful and in the house, doesn't bark except when people come over. She is crate trained and seems to be housebroken if she has accesss to the outside. (no guarentees on housetraining.) She does require at least one other dog companion. She is funny, she likes toys and carrying around random things. She is shy and likes attention on her terms but will put her front feet on the bed to strech out and give you kisses in the morning.
Adoption is $100 and includes her spay, rabies, worming, shots, and all dogs go home on two week trial. If interested, please fill out an application on our website www.thedogspotrescue.org and then email [email protected]
