Bear III the Dog needs a home
Hi, My Name is Bear! I am a mastiff mix about 9 months old and already weight about 65 lbs. I am not very tall but I am stocky.
I lost my family in a divorce; they surrendered me to the boarding facility that was taking care of me while they couldn’t. I do well in my crate; I haven’t even chewy up my bed. I don’t have any accidents in my kennel but I do go out a lot to go to the bathroom throughout the day, so that makes overnight easier. I have been having a lot of fun playing with all the dogs here at the kennel, but I think I could use some one on one training sessions to work on a few of my manners. I do know how to sit, and I am starting to come when called especially when there is a treat involved. I have not quite learned that people don’t like to be jumped on, and I need to be reminded to take a treat nicely out of a person’s hands. I love every person I meet big or small. I even met a nice cat that didn’t run from me and now we are friends.
I do walk with a limp because of an old injury that did not heal properly, but it doesn’t slow me down at all. I can wrestle with the best of them, and I try my hardest to keep up in the chase game. I do think my limp helps me walk nicer on a leash than most dogs my age because I have had to learn to not be in a hurry to get places. The nice people at NDLB are having a vet look at my limp to make sure everything is ok.
