Spaniel / Dachshund / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Bree the Dog needs a home

Please contact Donna ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.

My former foster mom and other people think I may be a spaniel/Dachshund with some Aussie or border collie too.  My herding instinct is strong and I tend to chase smaller animals and cats. And I like other dogs! Sometimes I can get bossy with my canine foster brother, but he is such a pushover, I can't help it ;-) Going for car rides is my favorite thing to do after eating. Treats were something new for me. I now sit for them and am learning about shaking paw. My next favorite thing to do is play fetch!  I will fetch pretty much anything, but the best is a stuffed animal that flops around when I shake the life out of it! If I really want to play or go outside, or if you are taking long to fix my supper, I snap my jaws together with a bark because I can't snap my fingers.  I am an excellent watch dog and will need about 3 weeks to learn the normal sounds in my new home.  I'd love to snuggle with you, but if you don't like me sleeping with you, I will go in my kennel just fine. Of course, I am totally house-trained!  Young kids are not my cup of tea, but people at least 14 years old can understand my needs. It takes me longer to trust men than women, but once I trust you, I like to burrow in the covers or the crook of your arm. I am looking for a quiet home with one or two people who will love me, play with me, understand me, and keep me safe.

I'm living at the Brother Wolf Animal Rescue adoption center now.  Please come by to meet me!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).

Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
