Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)
Jolee (special needs) the Cat needs a home
If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Pre-Qualification Form. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Meet Jolee! She is a very special young girl with a special need. She has Diabetes Insipidus, a condition that in this case affects her thirst mechanism. Before treatment she was perpetually thirsty and drank nonstop, but the water passed through her kidneys without absorbing the nutrients she needs.
Thankfully, one of our ARPO vets has determined that her condition can be treated with a pill that costs about $75.00 a month.
Bottom line, though, is that Jolee is a normal, happy cat. She is playful and affectionate and does well with other cats. Born around April of 2014, Jolee still has a lot of kitten energy. She will need extra visits to the vet to check the chemistries in her blood and urine but beyond that, her life should be very normal.
Anyone with a soft spot for this black beauty?
