Additional Information: Grayson is a shy but very affectionate little kitten. He spends most of the day hiding, but if coaxed out, he enjoys spending a lot of time sitting with his foster mom being petted; he loves to be scratched and brushed. While very submissive, Grayson likes to play with other kittens and with catnip toys. According to his original foster back in Smyth County, he gets along with dogs as well. Give this shy boy a quiet place and time to get used to you and your household and you'll have a great friend in Grayson!
If you are interested in meeting a cat, we require an adoption application. Visit www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-a-city-kitty.html to apply. If a cat has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.
If a cat has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. Information about fostering and our current cat foster needs can be found here: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-kitty.html
City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our animals (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Our cat adoption fee is $150 unless noted. Prior to arrival, all of our cats are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, FVRCP, and Feline leukemia. They are microchipped and tested for FIV and FeLV. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet.
We do our best to disclose all health records and known health conditions to adopters. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations and health tests, but does not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR & CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
