Adopt a American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Hi. My name is Gunner and I only joined The Rescue Crew and my new foster home a couple weeks ago.  This awesome group saved me from a local shelter.  I had some hair loss, but since I am eating higher quality food, my hair is growing back and I am lookin' good :)  But you never know, I may need some fish oil or something as I get older.

Let me tell you a little about myself; I'm two years old and I weight about 45lbs.  I am told that I am blue in color, but I don't know about that; the sky is blue and I think I'm grey.  I am house trained (that means that I do my business outside) and I do like my crate, nothing like a good nap all snuggled into the blankets!  I am not a fan of the cold weather, so after my business is done, I am in the house, in fact, I will try to beat you in the house! I love going for car rides and am learning all new kinds of commands.

I'm an energetic, lovable, fun loving dog who loves to play and give kisses.  I would love to give you a hug too!  I've been told that I am a really good hugger, but that also has gotten me into a little trouble, so I'm learning 4 on the floor and to only hug when asked for a hug (wish my foster mom would ask me for more hugs though).   

I know how to sit when asked (actually, I only do it for the treats) but my foster mom says that I'm pretty smart and I do catch on quickly.  She is working very hard with we me, she says that manners are a very important thing for a handsome fella like me to have.  My thought on that.....bring on the treats and I'm do just about anything you ask!  

Because I'm a big strong handsome man, I should probably be adopted by a family with older children, as I'm afraid that I might knock down a smaller one and hurt it.  I don't want to hurt anyone!

I don't live with any other doggies like me right now but have met a few out on leash and seemed to want to play. I walked well on a leash by them and we got to sniff a bit. I really wanted to play. They say think I will do fine with slow intros. I just want to play play and will need another dog who is ok with rough play.
