Adopt a Maine Coon / Dilute Calico
Rayne the Cat needs a home
If you are interested in adopting Rayne, please submit a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
This website is updated daily. If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as "available for adoption", that means the animal is still in DPR's care.
Rayne and her siblings (Carly, Sabrina and Shaylynn) were surrendered by their previous owners because they were living outside and one of them jumped on the car. After a domestic dispute, the cats were unceremoniously dumped at a high kill shelter. DPR is so happy that we were able to rescue them because they all have absolutely amazing personalities. They are now very happy being indoor-only cats and sleeping on their foster mom's bed every night. Rayne is the smallest of the group, although the vet thinks they are all the same age and likely related. Rayne is a sweet little girl with a beautiful long fluffy coat that will require some brushing to keep it from getting matted. She is shy but is starting to come out of her shell. She'd probably be happiest in a quiet house without kids or dogs since they might be scary to her. She gets along very well with other cats though. If you pick her up and lay her on your chest and pet her, she will stay there as long as you want her to and will sing you pretty songs.
Rayne is currently undergoing some medical treatment for minor issues and will be available starting February 26th.
Rayne is spayed, has tested negative for FeLv/FIV, is up to date on all vaccinations and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a "Cat Adoption Application" at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org/forms
Adoption fee is: $150
DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:
Initial vet visit
Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)
Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)
Distemper vaccination
SNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart worm
Broad spectrum dewormers
Monthly flea/tick preventative
Ear mite preventative
The above is standard for cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
