Pierce the Dog needs a home
HW Neg, had cataract surgery
Pierce is a Hurricane Harvey survivor! Found in water in Katy, he was taken to CAPS. They evaluated him and
discovered he had compromised vision, pretty unusual for a young healthy doberman. They contacted HADR and we accepted him into our program and immediately set up an appt with Eye Care for Animals. At this point he was diagnosed with cataracts and glaucoma, surgery recommended asap for save his eye sight. Pierce was neutered first then set up for surgery on Oct 2nd. Immediate improvement! Pierce is still recovering, has five different eye drops four time a day.
He has almost no swelling now and keeps his eyes open. He is often just staring at me, after hearing my voice for three
weeks! He also is amazed as he looks at things on the farm and is now not running into fences. Pierce has a few more post surgery appointment and will need a couple of eyes for awhile, but he could be adopted soon! He is very sweet and kind. He enjoys the other dogs and bounces and wrestles and even was chasing Morgan around ... all while wearing his cone! He will be able to shed the cone soon too!
