One of our vets contacted us about a dog who had been left behind at their practice. They knew her as Winter. Winter is an all white Siberian Husky with a little black patch like a snowman's nose. Little did the vet know she was pregnant! Winter gave birth to one female puppy while in boarding. Apparently birthing just one pup is common in young dogs. We believe Winter is between 1-2 years old. She will be ready for adoption at the end of October. Winter is crate trained, house trained and just wants to be wherever her people are! She is indifferent to other dogs and would prefer to have all the attention to herself but would also do well in a home with one other submissive dog. Winter is in foster care in VA but can be transported to MD or NJ for an approved adopter.
~~The Last Resort is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in.
