Current caretaker writes: "About a year ago, I accepted, for temporary basis only, a 6 year old spayed cat who had lost its home. Her "mom" had died, and her "dad" was moving to a place where he couldn't have pets. No one in his family could take her, due to allergies. I accepted the cat from the daughter-in-law (my friend) as a last resort, as the "dad" was going to have her put down. Her owners felt that she would not handle the activity, noise and stress of a shelter cage situation, and I agree with that assessment. I didn't intend to keep her, as I had 7 at the time myself, but couldn't bear to see a healthy young cat die. But now that I have seen how she doesn't really fit in here with my group, I want to see if I can find a better home for her.

Angel is a shorthair, all white, with two grey marks on her forehead. She was given 3 year vaccines for Rabies, Feline Leuk, and FVRCP in April 2015. I have a copy of her medical records. She was tested twice for FIV/Feluk/HWT and was negative both times. To the best of my knowledge, she was inside only and I think they got her as a kitten. She was with a small dog at her other home. She was the only cat, and she does NOT get along with other cats at all. She hisses and yowls and there have been a couple of skirmishes with my dominant male. She just doesn't like other cats. She is generally kept in a 20 x 10 foot room where she can look out the window. She gets out in the rest of the house when the other dominant cat is locked in his room for maybe 2 hours a day, if schedule allows.
She was very shy when she first came--hiding in a closet for 4 days. She came around after she got used to me and my schedule (and feeding!). She continues to be a little shy around strangers but she's made progress!
She is VERY food-oriented! She was overweight at 16 pounds when I got her--was fed dry food and wet, with treats (she goes bonkers for treats). She is down to 2 main meals of wet food only (Fancy Feast or Friskies) daily (3 oz per meal), with a teaspoon at bedtime to get everyone settled in their spots. She gets no dry food and only rarely treats. She has lost some weight now and is around 13-14 pounds I would guess now. She's still a little plump but not bad.
Her litter box habits are good--never had an issue. She has been healthy--no coughs and rarely a hairball. She has a variety of places she likes to sleep, particularly burrowing under a folded bedspread.
She does like to play, and I hear her running around in her room chasing toys. She also likes "lights".
She came with, and will go with--litter box, carrier, bed, Ace pills.
She will do best in a home where she is, and will continue to be, the only cat. She is the Queen, and will make the moves. She is not a cat that wants to be picked up (will fight you) and overly petted--do it on her terms. I would not suggest her with small children or an active household--she'll likely hide. She would do best in a quiet household as a companion--likely more with a senior single or couple. She is talkative, especially yowling at mealtime. She is sweet and would be a great companion to a quiet home where she can interact to her level.
I will continue to keep her until a home can be found. I continue to give her supervised opportunities for interactions with my other cats, but I do not trust them or her to leave them unsupervised.
