Adopt a Pomeranian / Maltese / Mixed (long coat)

Jillian was originally turned into the local shelter last year after her owner died. She is 15 yrs old, but she acts like she is going on 2.  She found a home pretty quickly, but unfortunately, her adopter needed surgery and could not keep up with Jillian. That's right, Jilly has no idea she is a senior, and you'd better not tell her otherwise. She is very spry and has no qualms about heading out the front door on an adventure. Her home will need a securely fenced yard and she is best suited for a single family home, and not an apartment complex. 

Jillian is very lovable but can be food aggressive with other dogs and she hoards food. She doesn't fight, just growls. Therefore, it might be best if Jilly is an only dog. She loves having her belly rubbed and snuggling. 

**Please note that like all pups of similar breed, Jillian has a high grooming requirement. She will need to be groomed every 6-8 weeks, which requires more than just cutting her hair back, so a grooming reference is required. We ask that you factor the cost of grooming into your pet care budget.

Jillian is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She is current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative, and has tested negative for heartworms.

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

**Local adoptions preferred (within 1-2 hrs of the Greater New Orleans area), but please contact us if you live outside of this area, as exceptions are sometimes made on an individual basis depending on the dog or circumstances. We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.
