Benet the Dog needs a home
Bénét - 3 year old Pitty Mix. She was a stray for 7 weeks on the streets of Philly, she was too scared and timid to catch but she was hanging around a kind family's home. They would put out food and water for her and she would allow them to get maybe 3' away from her. When they walked their dog, she would follow them. On a very hot and humid day Bénét was chased all over until she just couldn't run anymore and was captured and taken to the high-kill shelter. When the family learned of this, they went into meet her but didn't know to take their lease agreement with them. So they went back the next day, with all the paperwork and Bénét was no longer available and had been marked 'Rescue Only' as she was terrified in the kennel environment. They couldn't help her, only a rescue could get her out. Not only that, she had a death sentence. 8pm that night. One amazing shelter volunteer was aware of this and reached out. And he found the ears of NARPS. We heard loud and clear how much this family cares about Bénét, and her time stamp was looming. We authorized for the family to take their dog and have a meeting. The amazing volunteer was willing to be there and help. The dogs got along really well. When little Bénét saw the kind family who had been feeding her, she wagged her tail slightly. She knew them and remembered the kindness they had showed her. Her foster family fought hard for her and adore her, but she is still looking for her forever home??
