Adopt a Australian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat)

Hi!  My name is Maya and I am a beautiful, mellow, Australian Shepherd mix girl that they say is about 3 years old and a small 32 lbs.  I came out of a small town Tennessee shelter and Critter Cavalry Rescue discovered that I was missing my right eye completely.  If I could talk I would tell them what happened but I cannot so it is all guesswork.  I am having an operation on it to completely close up the socket and make it impossible to ever bother me again or get infected.   I am sensitive if you touch my face.  I guess the memory and the pain of losing that eye is still very fresh right now.  I am a very sweet and calm girl that honestly would love to have a home where things are on the quiet side and where I can sleep at the foot of the bed or the sofa at my leisure.  I have belonged to someone before because my foster mom says that I have good manners and a relaxed temperament.  I am all the great things you want in a dog. I am kind, quiet, calm, housebroken, good with all other creatures, good with children and prefer to not put up with lots of noisy antics from the little humans too much.  If it gets too crazy at my foster home, I will just go in the other room and chill in a quiet spot. My foster house has young children and I get along very well with them.  I love when the humans throw me a ball, take me for a walk, and give me lots of snuggles.  I am working on my leash manners, because I like to pull when I see something exciting ahead. I guess that is my “herding” instincts kicking in.
