Adopt a Dachshund / Mixed (short coat)
Gus the Dog needs a home
Gus and a companion dog, possibly his brother, were rescued from the parking lot at the Goodson's Café in Tomball, Texas. It appeared that they had been dumped there. Both were very fearful and skittish. Neither dog was wearing a collar or any ID tags, nor were they microchipped.
It seems that Gus must have had little socialization early on, as a young puppy, because he lacks impulse control with animals and people. Gus is still learning to be friendly and play appropriately with other dogs, cats and humans too. He has a goofy, playful spirit and loves to run and chase after his canine friends. He is slowly learning to trust humans but is fearful when approached too quickly. Gus is going to need an experienced dog owner who has the patience and persistence to work with him on developing calm and polite behaviors.
Estimated birthdate: July 2016
